Head of Soil Science Department, University of Zambia
Dr. Lydia M. Chabala has 15 years of experience in land and water management and currently works as Head of Department (Soil Science) and Lecturer/Researcher at the University of Zambia. Her research interests are in the areas of sustainable land and natural resource management, remote sensing, and soil ecosystem services in a changing climate. Her current work encompasses digital soil assessment, the interactions between land use and climate change, and soil water quality assessment in various catchments. She is currently serving as one of the Soil Experts on the Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils (ITPS), part of the Global Soil Partnership (GSP - FAO).
